Lock Down

I'm officially stuck on strict bed rest. Up until now, I'll admit, I didn't totally take the bed rest thing too seriously- I tried to kick back with my feeties up, and be a good girl. Unfortunately, this little monkey baby decided that wasn't going to be enough. My blood pressure won't drop, so now I'm stuck in bed for reals until she gets here. There is a TINY bit of light at the end of the tunnel though- the doctor moved my c-section up to sometime around January 4th- she'll be two weeks early. Of course that's only IF my blood pressure will behave until then. Cody is all grumpy that we miss the tax writeoff by only four days- I think his new goal in life has become driving my blood pressure up far enough to have to deliver the 31st of December (kidding, kidding- I think he's MORE nervous about this whole thing than I am-which I didn't think was possible!) So, anyway- for now "Life through our eyes" has become "Life through my bedroom window" for now. In the meantime, here is my "eight". Marci tagged me.....so here goes:
Eight shows I like to watch:
Hmmmmm....this one is tricky, I'm going to pretend we aren't too cheap to get cable for this...
1. Mythbusters (Cody got me hooked)
2. Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe (another Cody favorite)
3. Dancing with the Stars (OK- so that's a Cody one too, he's obsessed with Brooke Burke)
4. Nova (OK- so I'm SUCH a nerd that I really like watching Nova)
5. The Baby Story (NOT- I just threw that in to pretty much remind myself how much I DON'T like to watch it- too much like being at work)
6. Max X- I think we like the sarcastic commentary more than the show
7. Wipe Out- see #6
8. Honestly, I don't watch TV much- books on the other hand.....

Eight restaurants I like to eat at:
1. Olive Garden- Alfredo is my best friend
2. Red Robin- their fries are EVIL
3. Applebees- oriental chicken salad baby-talk about craving the whole nine months!
4. Golden Corral- just because it's fun to watch Cody try to smuggle out steak in his coat pockets
5. Jamba Juice- razzmatazz smoothies make any day a happy day
6. Little Ceasar's Pizza-cheapest pizza in the world, AWESOME after a twelve hour shift at the hospital
7. Chili's- it's all about the chips
8. Wherever Cody wants to go- I always feel bad going out to dinner on his day's off since he pretty much LIVES on restaurant food.

Eight things that happened today:
Ummmm...this one is lots of fun on strict bed rest.....
1. I slept a little
2. I sat up and talked to the cat for awhile (she's been my best bud, and by the way, LOVES it when I'm on bed rest- lazy little bugger)
3. Talked to Cody on the cell phone for the five seconds he could actually get reception and hear me.
4. Got up the bathroom-I think Kinder's head is wedged on top of my bladder
5. Ate some cereal and a banana- took a good hour to do this just so I could have a little time out of bed :)
6. Got back in bed
7. Got bored and decided that putting my feet up for a few minutes to play with my blog counted as still being in bed, but now my ankles are the size of tree trunks and my fingers are swollen up like sausages, and I'm thinking that I should probably get my buns back in bed.
8. Ignored the swelling and just kept on typing......

Eight things I look forward to:
1. Kinder Morgan- PLEASE stay in there for at LEAST 4 more weeks!!!
2. Thanksgiving-tomorrow-yay!!!
3. Twice a week we get to go be monitored at the hospital- at least I get to catch up with the girls at work.
4. More baby showers :) Thank you Keeky and Shalyn!!
5. Snow- I need something to watch out the window
6. Mandy's baby girlie- I need some serious hands-on training sessions from the pro.
7. Christmas- coming WAY too soon though!!
8. Being a mommy to something with two legs instead of four- OK- I'm more scared of that one than looking forward to it.

Eight things on my wish list:
1. A HEALTHY happy baby girl
2. A QUICK recovery from my impending c-section
3. Cody to fall madly in love with the little girl that is going to have him wrapped around his little finger whether he wants to admit it or not.
4. Unexplainable weight loss post baby
5. World peace (my supermodel answer)
6. A vacation ANYWHERE with a beach and palm trees
7. To stress less, and love life more
8. To appreciate what I've all ready got more

Eight people I'm tagging:
OK- I'm new to the blog thing and know NOBODY that hasn't all ready been tagged.....except for
1. Shannon
Everybody else, get blogging!! Or at least clue me in to where you are out there if you all ready are!!

Sunny with a Few Showers

We've had so much fun in the past week with TWO baby showers!! Thank you SO much to Marci and Mom (Utona), and my AMAZING neighbors the Jaffas for ceasing to amaze me with their party throwing AWESOMENESS!! Thank you ALL! We got loads of clothes and blankets, the world's cutest bassinet and the world's softest little bouncer. It makes me SO excited (and nervous) to see everything coming together. We've waited so long for this, it's still SO surreal. Even though this pregnancy has been a nasty bugger- after seeing that sweet little face on our ultrasound last week, it has been MORE than worth it. I'm officially on bed rest (not strict yet, but no more hauling patients around Labor and Delivery for a bit), thanks to my blood pressure, so I actually have time to play with my blog now. Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much Michelle for setting this up and getting it going- best idea for a shower gift EVER!!!
4 Months In (back when I still felt 'cute' pregnant)

8 Months In (and after WAY too many chocolate cravings)
